Chris and Isabella Geissler had the vision to become the best employer in the region and to focus on the personal happiness of the individual team members. But they made a mistake. They had already rushed ahead relatively quickly with their dreams and visions and had forgotten to take their team with them.
What they wanted for the Saalbacher Hof and how the employees actually saw the work at the SBH were two different worlds. So at the end of 2015, the emergency brake was pulled and the first K&K event was launched.
K&K is a nice abbreviation that may remind some people of royal and imperial, but for us internally this abbreviation stood for"Kotzkübel Event". So it's not something you hang on the big bell but extremely important at this difficult time.
During these 3 hours, the SBH crew were allowed to get everything off their chest that really bothered them about the company, their colleagues and above all their management, Chris & Isabella, not to say pissed them off, without having to fear that this would have negative consequences.
However, to ensure that the retreat was successful, 10 basic rules were defined, which everyone received as cards at the start of the K&K event. This ensured that all participants were on an equal footing and that problems could be addressed openly and without judgment.
No sooner said than done, the event has shaken up a lot of things, but above all has welded together a group that wants to actively participate in the design of their dream workplace. In addition to all department heads, the team also includes Wima's (returning employees without a managerial function).
The first successes could already be seen a week later. Things that had bothered many were eliminated.
The K&K circle still meets regularly. At the SBH crew's own request, the meeting is no longer called Kotzkübel but KREATIV & KONSTRUKTIV.
The idea for a joint trip after each season of our"SBH crew on the road" was also born in the K&K circle. As well as many other great development steps towards a dream job at the Saalbacher Hof.
What is Dreamwork?
Dreamwork is our employee brand. We deliberately don't call it employer branding (which is now on everyone's lips), because it's not the employer we want to focus on. We don't want to present ourselves as an employer, but rather our wonderful team, our employees, without whom everything would be nothing!
See here what makes Dreamwork so special:
